MCSA Input to Belanjawan 2027 Workshop

MCSA Unifies Civil Society Priorities for Belanjawan 2027 Submission

PETALING JAYA, June 2026 — The Malaysian CSO-SDG Alliance (MCSA) has successfully concluded a series of consultation sessions aimed at finalizing a unified civil society memorandum for the upcoming Belanjawan 2027.
Initiated on April 15, 2026, the project brought together 17 organizations across all four thematic MCSA Advocacy Pillars. Participants underwent capacity building on national budget scrutiny, state expenditure tracking, and evidence-based policy formulation.

To ensure inclusive regional representation, a joint virtual dialogue on May 20 convened 20 representatives from the thematic pillars and regional groupings in Sabah and Sarawak. This session mapped regional socioeconomic priorities, highlighting localized data on infrastructure and public equity.

The process culminated in a physical workshop on June 18 with 25 delegates at the APPGM Event Hall in Petaling Jaya. Participants consolidated feedback, streamlined overlapping recommendations, and finalized the core text for direct submission.

By standardizing submission frameworks and bridging regional needs with national thematic priorities, MCSA continues to foster a cohesive, evidence-based voice for civil society in shaping Malaysia’s sustainable development agenda.
